Location: White River, downtown Muncie

The White River Canal District project is not an initiative of a Project Management Team, but is supported by Next Muncie as a project that will benefit the people of Muncie.

The White River Canal District is a multi-year improvement plan to transform the riverfront, expand urban housing, and attract new business and talent in downtown.

  • White River Lofts, a four story, 55-unit mixed-use apartment building

  • Expanded restaurant and retail establishments

  • Public plaza and riverwalk

  • 5 new canoe and kayak launch sites along the White River
