Project Initiatives

Location: Business District located adjacent to Ball State University’s campus

The Village revitalization project is not an initiative of a Project Management Team, but is supported by Next Muncie as a project that will benefit the people of Muncie.

The revitalization of The Village, including a new Performing Arts Center, is set to provide generational change for the university and Muncie community that seeks to welcome and engage them through live, work, and play opportunities. 

  • PAC: New Performing Arts Center to create opportunity for high school and community groups.

  • Tapestry by Hilton Hotel

  • Retail and restaurant tenants, and apartments on the southeast corner of University and McKinley Avenues.

  • New Center for Innovation to promote entrepreneurship and business expansion in the region, located at the southeast corner of Ashland Avenue and Main Street.

  • For-sale townhomes, condos, and apartments located between North and Gilbert Streets.

  • Activity center and event plaza

  • Campus and community bookstore in discussion.

  • The University is working with the city and the residents of Riverside Normal neighborhood to improve pedestrian and bicycle access between The Village and downtown Muncie.
